Cybi Bikes has been established as part of an initiative called Green Links, which aims to improve visitor attractions at key tourist spots and promote walking and cycling on Holy Island in Anglesey. The Green Links initiative is supported by Communities and Nature, which is a strategic project, led and managed by Natural Resources Wales and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The initiative is also funded by the Welsh Government under the Môn â Menai regeneration area, and with a contribution from Wylfa Power Station managed and operated by Magnox Ltd. The work is being led by Keep Wales Tidy, working in partnership with the Isle of Anglesey County Council and various other organisations on the island.
Cybi Bikes has been set up as a Community Interest Company and is a trading arm of Keep Wales Tidy (charity). Any profits made from Cybi Bikes will be fed back into the community to improve the environment and create volunteering opportunities for local residents.
Discover the natural beauty of Holy Island on Anglesey
Whether you love to walk or cycle, or just take in the air outdoors, very few locations can rival Holy Island. Found at the North West tip of Anglesey, the island boasts some of the UK's most spectacular coastal walks – a place where the natural landscape, wildlife and historic landmarks meet head on.
On your bike...
To really appreciate what the wonderful landscapes and coastal scenery around Holy Island has to offer there's no better way than to cycle the quiet country lanes and roads that criss-cross this spectacular part of Anglesey. To make it easier for you we've signposted four routes that offer something for everyone. They range from 1.5 hours (12 miles), through to a 3.5 hour route (20 miles) that takes in all of Holy Island's coastal grandeur. Look out for the Green Links logo on the signposts. All of the routes are signposted from Holyhead, but you can of course travel in either direction.
Or on a Cybi bike...
And if you're looking to hire a bike on Holy Island, then our newly formed social enterprise, Cybi Bikes, offers a range of bikes to suit all needs. And more than that, we operate across 7 'hubs' and you can hire or drop off a bike at any them.
When you hire a bike from Cybi Bikes we'll also provide a repair kit, pump, helmet and high viz vest, as well as all the information you'll need to get the most out of your visit. And if you do have problems with your bike and you're unable to fix it, give us a call and we will try to be with you as soon as we can. This service is limited to Holy Island and available from 9am – 4pm on the day of hire.
The hire service normally operates between Easter and the end of September, but we can also provide bikes on request during the Winter months.
