FAQ

1. What is Green Links and why was it set up?

Green Links has been set up on the island to help visitors and residents get the most out of the spectacular coastal scenery without having to drive everywhere. On foot or on two wheels...on or off the beaten track...it's our mission to help you discover and enjoy the island, your way.
The project has been running since late 2011. It was set up by Keep Wales Tidy, with support from the European Union, Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales and Wylfa power station. It was through the Green Links initiative that Cybi Bikes was established as a Community Interest Company.

2. As well as bike hire what else does Cybi Bikes do?

Cybi bikes provide bike hire from 7 'hubs' near Holyhead – who are all existing businesses. There are sign posted routes you can follow, or plan your own journey, but we also offer a range of guided rides and walks, as well as volunteering opportunities and deals for businesses. Contact Cybi Bikes on 07717 453806 to find out more.

3. What happens if I get a puncture on a hired bike?

And if you do have problems with your bike and you're unable to fix it, give us a call and we will try to be with you as soon as we can. This service is limited to Holy Island and available from 9am – 4pm on the day of hire.

4. Are the bikes reliable and services regularly?

Yes, all our bikes are new (less than 2 years old) and we carry out regular servicing. All bikes are checked before hire and on return and any problems are fixed straight away.

5. Can I get advice on bike maintenance?

Yes, we closely work with bike mechanics who can offer bike maintenance courses and advice. Chris can point you in the right direction if you need help.

6. Where do the guided tours go?

We regularly take groups from Holyhead port to Valley along a fairly flat route that's largely off-road and very safe. But we can also plan a route to meet your needs, so if you're a group of 8 or more and you'd like a guided tour – just get in touch. We'll not only provide you with a safe and enjoyable ride, but we can also tell you about the area's fascinating history and wildlife.
